In typical Astrophytum asterias plants, the surface is decorated with white trichome speckles that create a star-like pattern across the ribs. In the Nudum form, these trichomes are greatly reduced or absent, revealing the natural beauty of the plant’s clean epidermis and symmetrical rib structure.
