Astrophytum asterias Cv. Kikko Nudum “Durian” is a striking cultivar known for its distinctive Kikko expression. In this cultivar, the Kikko segments are strongly protruded and exaggerated, giving the plant a rugged, armored appearance. The form resembles a durian fruit, with bold, sharply defined segments that project outward rather than lying flat.
In the Nudum expression, the absence of white flecking allows the dramatic rib segmentation and deep green body color to stand out clearly. Each specimen develops with pronounced character early on, making this cultivar especially appealing to collectors who value extreme structure and texture.
Each plant is hand-picked and carefully selected for overall health, structure, and root development. Natural variation in segment shape and exaggeration is expected—no two Durian plants are ever identical.
Most plants in the 2.5-inch selection are already showing their true form and cultivar character, and many are on their way to flowering. At this stage, the exaggerated Kikko segmentation is clearly visible, while still allowing the collector to witness continued development before full maturity.
